Construction Fire Safety Plans
Preparation of Construction Fire Safety Plans (CFSPs) as required by the BC Fire Code during demolition, construction, and renovation of buildings.
When is a Construction Fire Safety Plan Required?
CFSPs may be required during construction, alteration or demolition depending on the applicable Fire Code and requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction.

Scope of Services
Site hazard identification
Assessment of site-specific fire hazards arising from the construction sequence, materials storage, and site conditions.
Hot work and storage controls
Identification of hot work controls, combustible material storage requirements, and prevention measures appropriate to the project.
Emergency and evacuation procedures
Development of emergency response and evacuation procedures for the construction site, including worker communication protocols.
Firefighting access and hydrants
Review of firefighting access routes, hydrant availability, and temporary fire system requirements for the construction period.
Coordination with AHJ and fire department
Coordinate applicable review and acceptance requirements with the Authority Having Jurisdiction and local fire department.
Plan updates as construction progresses
Reviewing and updating the CFSP as construction stages change, ensuring the plan remains current and compliant throughout the project.
